Rob Skipper & The Musical Differences (also known as just 'The Musical Differences') are a British band based in London formed in late 2008 by Rob Skipper, ex lead singer/guitarist/fiddler of North London Indie pop group The Holloways. They were formed as a side-project to the Holloways but since Skipper's departure from the Holloways in December 2008, they became a full-time act. Skipper described the group as more rootsy and folk-oriented than the Holloways.〔https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/articles/event-archive-view.php?Id=979〕 Skipper put the group together in late summer 2008 after being offered the support-slot for Vincent Vincent and the Villains final gig at 93 Feet East venue.〔)http://www.93feeteast.co.uk/diary/index.cfm?View=Day&EventDate=2008-09-13〕 For the gig Skipper put together a backing band featuring Oisin Leech (of The 747s / The Lost Brothers) on rhythm guitar/backing vocals and current members Susannah Austin and Slinky Sunbeam. The name 'The Musical Differences' was chosen by Skipper as an ironic poke at the age-old cliche of bands splitting up due to 'musical differences' and his own wish to form a side project aside from the musical norm of the Holloways. == Recordings == They recently finished their first recording session in LA with Madness/Elvis Costello producer Clive Langer and Larrikin Love/ Brakes producer Iain Gore.
